Local attractions

From Vine Cottage B&B you can explore all that Cornwall has to offer quite easily by car or train, using bike trails or on foot. A local bike hire shop next to cycle track in Pentewan can usually help with bikes and advice.

Eden Project

Vine Cottage is one of the nearest B&Bs to the Eden Project and by car we are a short five minute drive away.

Eden is probably the most well known man made visitor attraction in Cornwall. Created and set up by Sir Timothy Bartel Smit KBE and his team, as an educational visitor attraction, construction began in 1998 with the grand opening in 2001.

Built in a reclaimed china clay pit, the centre consists of two huge biomes filled with plants, exhibitions and things to do.

The rainforest biome is spectacular in size and features some extraordinary plants, buildings and features.

The Mediterranean biome on the other hand is slightly smaller and cooler but packed with a wonderful array of plants, sculptures and things to do.

When we visit, we tour the rainforest biome first, then cool off afterwards in the Mediterranean biome before enjoying a bite to eat in one of the restaurants/cafés that they have on site.

The Eden Project is a full day out, suiting all ages and members of the family. If you’re thinking of going, as a B&B near the Eden Project, we are allowed to sell tickets to our guests at a reduced rate!
